President Donald Trump’s Late-Night “Covfefe” Tweet Goes Viral

The Internet has fun with a Donald Trump typo.

Shortly after midnight late Tuesday/early Wednesday, US President issued an intriguing Tweet:

He presumably intended to discuss strength and/or success in the face of negative press coverage, but his message features two notable mistakes.

It abruptly ends after the dependent clause; the core of Trump’s statement is therefore missing.

More notably, it features the word “covfefe” rather than (presumably) “coverage.”

“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” reads the Tweet, which remained live as of press time at 12:55AM ET.

Internet users predictably lampooned his use of “covfefe.” Comedic Tweets predictably emerged, and memes quickly developed.

A Twitter search for “covfefe” provides a snapshot of the comedic comments.
