Ratings: Primetime Carpool Karaoke Special Falls In Demo, Rises In Viewership

This year’s primetime “Carpool Karaoke” special drew a weaker demo rating but a stronger viewer mark than the 2016 edition.

Preliminary numbers for CBS’ “The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special 2017” offer a mixed comparison to last year’s edition.

The show fell in adults 18-49 but enjoyed a slight gain in overall viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, this year’s show drew a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 4.23 million overall viewers. Last year’s special garnered a 0.9 in the demo but only 4.17 million in overall viewership.

Of note: the 2016 edition received stronger lead-in support. It aired out of an episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” that drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and 8.89 million viewers.

This year’s show followed a Princess Diana documentary that drew a 0.8 rating and 6.68 million viewers in the 8PM hour.

This year’s special featured Carpool Karaoke with Katy Perry and a “Toddlerography” dance class with Jennifer Lopez.
