Earlier this year, The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” became Coldplay’s first Top 10 hit on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart.

This week, it is on track to become the band’s first #1 at the format.

“Something Just Like This” received 5,192 spins during the first two days of the May 14-20 tracking week. Up 5.3% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Something” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

With no obvious threat emerging from below, “Something Just Like This” should be able to retain its position through the close of tracking.

The first #1 for Coldplay, “Something” will become the third chart-topper for The Chainsmokers. The duo previously led the pop chart with “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Closer.”
