A Shawn Mendes single and a Shawn Mendes album earned new RIAA certifications on April 25, 2017.

“Treat You Better,” the single, earned a triple platinum honor in the US. The certification confirms 3 million in US units, with each unit equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Mendes’ sophomore album “Illuminate,” which features “Treat You Better” as its lead single, received a gold certification.

The honor confirms 500,000 in US album units. Each unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.
