Breaking with tradition, the new season of HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” will not premiere this spring.

Viewers will instead be asked to wait until July 16 for new episodes of the Emmy-winning series.

HBO announced that season seven of the smash hit series will premiere at 9PM ET/PT on July 16.

The news was revealed during a bizarre live stream riddled with technical issues. HBO subsequently confirmed the premiere date in a press alert. It also released a teaser video:
