The CW’s “Riverdale” Receives Second Season Renewal

Riverdale [The CW]

While it has not been a strong live+same-day ratings performer, “Riverdale” has garnered ample critical acclaim and considerable fan enthusiasm.

It is also faring well with DVR and multi-platform viewers.

Those factors came together to yield a second season renewal for the show.

“Riverdale,” which is six episodes into its first season, joins “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow,” “Supernatural,” “Supergirl,” “Jane The Virgin” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” in securing a renewal — and a spot on The CW’s 2017-18 roster.

Season one continues with a new episode this Thursday.
