Ed Sheeran’s third album “Divide” officially entered the market on March 3.
One day earlier, its smash hit lead single attained a multi-platinum certification in the US.
According to the RIAA, “Shape Of You” was crowned double platinum on March 2, 2017.
The certification confirms 2 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
“Shape Of You” has spent five of its seven chart weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
