The first of this year’s major acting awards was just delivered at the 89th Academy Awards.

It was the award for Best Supporting Actor, and it went to Mahershala Ali.

The actor won for his critically acclaimed performance in “Moonlight.” He received a roaring reception from the crowd as he accepted his first Oscar.

Other nominees included Dev Patel, Jeff Bridges, Lucas Hedges, and Michael Shannon.
