Report: Harry Styles’ Debut Solo Single Sounds Like A Smash

One Direction on Corden [CBS]

The latest “IB Bad” column on Hits Daily Double teases the first wave of solo music from Harry Styles.

Produced by Jeff Bhasker, the One Direction member’s forthcoming album is reportedly heavily influenced by late-’70s rock, calling to mind the music of Queen and David Bowie.

The lead single may arrive by late April or early May, and the column notes that it “sounds like it would be a smash in any decade.”

Former One Direction member ZAYN released his first solo single and album last year; both debuted at #1. 1D’s Niall Horan recently went platinum in the US with his debut solo song “This Town,” while Louis Tomlinson joined forces with Steve Aoki to release radio single “Just Hold On.”

Styles and Liam Payne are thus the only One Direction members who have not yet released solo music. Both are expected to do so soon.
