====

Last week, Future Islands released new single “Ran.”

Thursday night, the band plays “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Thanks to an unforgettable performance on a March 2014 edition of “The Late Show With David Letterman,” the band takes the stage with very lofty standards. The performance will surely be good, but will it be as striking as the original “Letterman” gig (or even the strong 2015 “Letterman” showcase)?

We’ll find out when the episode airs at 11:35PM ET/PT.

Thursday’s episode also features appearances by Alec Baldwin, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Nathan East, the latter of whom is sitting in with The Roots.
