Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” Heading Top 10 At Pop Radio; Chainsmokers’ “Paris” Top 15

Ed Sheeran (Tonight Show | NBC)

January’s highest-profile new singles will move to new peaks on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” will earn a Top 10 position, while The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” will move into the Top 15.

“Shape Of You” received 7,231 spins during the first five days of the January 22-28 tracking week. Up 22.5% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots Sheeran’s song at #9 on Mediabase’s building chart.

“Shape Of You” does not face an imminent threat from below and should thus have no difficulty retaining its Top 10 position. It actually stands a chance of eclipsing Rihanna’s building #8 “Love On The Brain” before the close of tracking.

“Paris,” which received 5,611 spins during the first five days of the week (+55.7%), is #15 on building. “Paris” will not be overtaken by anything from below; it may even leapfrog Jon Bellion’s building #14 “All Time Low” and Niall Horan’s building #13 “This Town” before the chart goes final.
