Warren G & Nate Dogg’s “Regulate” Earns Double Platinum Honor In US

Warren G’s 90s hit “Regulate (featuring Nate Dogg)” has ascended to multi-platinum status in the United States.

The hip-hop classic received a double platinum certification on January 20, 2017.

Issued by the RIAA, the certification confirms 2 million in US units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download* or 150 streams.

Released in the summer of 1994, “Regulate” peaked at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

*Editor’s Note: The RIAA says “Regulate” went double platinum under its digital singles program, but the song’s platinum and gold certifications came in 1994 — before digital singles were a thing. It is unclear if the double platinum digital certification includes physical single sales or if the song has generated 2 million in digital units alone.
