Julia Michaels’ “Issues” Receiving Early Pop Airplay In San Francisco, Detroit, Los Angeles

Julia Michaels’ debut radio single “Issues” premiered this past Friday and does not officially go for pop radio adds until February 7.

It is nonetheless already receiving support from some high-profile stations.

According to Mediabase, SiriusXM’s Hits 1 played the song 10 times during the seven-day window between January 9 and 15. San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW offered 9 spins within that window, while Detroit’s 98.7 AMP and Los Angeles’ 102.7 KIIS played the song 6 times and 5 times, respectively.

“Issues” is also receiving early support at the hot adult contemporary format, where it officially impacts on February 13. Early supporters include Norfolk’s Hot 100 (7 plays this week), SiriusXM’s The Pulse (5 plays) and San Francisco’s Alice@97.3 (3 plays).

Michaels has written numerous hits for other artists, including Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Selena Gomez’ “Good For You” and “Hands To Myself,” Gwen Stefani’s “Used To Love You,” Fifth Harmony’s “All In My Head (Flex),” and Nick Jonas’ “Close.”

She signed an artist deal with Republic Records last year.
