The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” Debuts At #26 On Pop Radio Airplay Chart

The follow-up to The Chainsmokers’ smash hit “Closer (featuring Halsey)” is off to a strong start at pop radio.

Despite not launching until the sixth day of the January 8-14 tracking period, “Paris” received ~2,390 spins during the January 8-14 tracking period. The count earns “Paris” a #26 debut position on this week’s Mediabase pop chart.

That is one place beneath where Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” debuted last week, but “Paris” actually received more spins. “Shape Of You” debuted with ~2,018 initial plays.

To its credit, “Shape Of You” shared some initial spotlight with Sheeran’s other new release “Castle On The Hill.” “Paris,” on the other hand, enters the market while predecessor “Closer” is still one of the five most-played songs at pop radio.

While its spin count was bottlenecked by the late-week arrival, “Paris” benefited from “on the hour” first day airplay promotions.

The song, obviously, ranks as the week’s top debut.
