Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha’s “In The Name Of Love” officially went gold on December 12, 2016, but the RIAA waited until last week to report the news.

It was far more expedient in confirming the song’s ascent to platinum status.

The RIAA today announced news of the certification, which was issued on January 9, 2017.

The platinum certification confirms 1 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“In The Name Of Love” was Garrix’s first single as part of his Sony/RCA deal. It peaked at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100.
