After spending several weeks in the #2 position, Ghost’s “Square Hammer” is leading the race for #1 on this week’s Mediabase active rock airplay chart.

“Square Hammer” received 1,165 spins during the first four days of the January 8-14 tracking week. Up 4.7% from the count at this point last week, the count slots “Square Hammer” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Highly Suspect’s “My Name Is Human,” which spent the past eight weeks at #1, is down to #2 on the building chart.

“Square Hammer” only holds a nine-spin advantage over “My Name Is Human,” but it has the clear momentum advantage. While the Ghost song is up nearly 5% from last week’s mark, “My Name Is Human” is down by 0.8%.

Still, given the tight margin, it is too early to guarantee a #1 finish for “Square Hammer.”
