Hosted by John Cena and featuring musical guest Maren Morris, this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” posted gains in the overnight ratings.

Citing metered market data, NBC says Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 4.8 overnight household rating. It meanwhile drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating in the twenty five markets with local people meters.

The numbers top the 4.4 household rating and 2.1 demo rating drawn by last week’s episode, which featured host Emma Stone and musical guest Shawn Mendes.

They also best the 4.7 household rating and 2.2 drawn by the November 19 Kristen Wiig-The xx episode.

This weekend’s “SNL, moreover, comfortably outperformed the year-ago episode. Airing on December 12, 2015, that episode posted a 3.8 household rating and a 1.8 demo rating. It featured host Chris Hemsworth and musical guest Chance The Rapper.

“SNL” airs its final original of 2016 next week; Casey Affleck will be hosting, and Chance will be performing.
