“Reign” Cancelled By The CW; Season Four Will Be The Show’s Last

The last season of “Reign” premieres on Friday, February 10.

The CW has opted not to order a fourth season of its period drama, which is loosely based on the life of Mary, Queen of Scots.

“Reign” was never a strong ratings performer. During its first two seasons on Thursdays, it routinely turned away a sizable portion of its (once coveted) “The Vampire Diaries” lead-in.

It impressively avoided a big ratings drop upon moving to Fridays at the start of season three. It did not, however, post gains upon moving to Mondays at midseason.
