The Chainsmokers & Halsey’s “Closer” May Earn 9th Week As Pop Radio’s #1 Song

As we move into the latter portion of the November 20-26 tracking week, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” is the frontrunner for #1 on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart.

This would mark its ninth (non-consecutive) week at #1.

“Closer” received 10,219 spins during the first four days of the official tracking week. That trails last week’s mark by 3.4% but keeps “Closer” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

With 10,004 spins during the four-day window, DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You (featuring Justin Bieber)” is not completely out of the race. It is, however, decelerating at a faster rate. Whereas “Closer” is down 3.4% versus the same-time-last-week mark, “Let Me Love You” is off by 4.5%.

Nothing else has a chance of reaching #1 this week.

“Closer” will meanwhile earn a second week at #1 on the hot adult contemporary airplay chart.
