Off for last week’s election coverage, NBC’s freshman hit “This Is Us” returned with an original Tuesday.

It posted episode-to-episode gains in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s “This Is Us” drew a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating and 9.50 million total viewers.

The numbers top the 2.3 adults 18-49 rating and 8.48 million drawn by the November 1 episode, which faced heavy competition from game six of the World Series.

This Tuesday’s “This Is Us” was the night’s #1 show in adults 18-49.

— NBC’s Tuesday lineup also included “The Voice” at 8PM (2.1, 9.66 million) and “Chicago Fire” at 10PM (1.5, 6.94 million). “The Voice” won its timeslot (and ranked as the night’s #2 show overall) in adults 18-49, while “Chicago Fire” was second to ABC’s David Blaine special.
