Ratings: “Empire” Falls To Non-Holiday Low For Mariah Carey Episode

Empire [FOX]

Mariah Carey’s appearance on “Empire” generated ample media coverage, but it did not drive a live+same-day ratings gain.

Wednesday’s episode, in fact, set non-holiday lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “Empire” drew a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating and 9.24 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 3.7 rating and 9.65 million viewer mark garnered by last week’s episode.

They, moreover, rank as the lowest for a non-holiday edition of “Empire.” Only last year’s Thanksgiving Eve episode, which was excluded from the final averages as a “special,” drew a smaller live+same-day audience (3.2, 9.21 million).

— FOX led into “Empire” with “Lethal Weapon.” The numbers trail the 2.0 rating and 7.23 million audience sum posted by last week’s episode.
