The Weeknd’s “Starboy” Added By B96 & 99.7 NOW; Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy” Added By 99.7 NOW

The frontrunner for this week’s “most added” honor at pop radio, The Weeknd’s “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk)” predictably earned support from Chicago’s B96 and San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW.

Reporting in conjunction with the September 27 add board, the two major market stations confirm that they have picked up The Weeknd’s new single.

“Starboy” is B96’s only pickup this week. It is one of two 99.7 NOW adds; the San Francisco-based station also picked up Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy.”

“Starboy” made its radio premiere last Thursday and instantly made a splash on the pop, rhythmic and urban airplay charts. “Mercy” is set as the follow-up to Mendes’ still-rising “Treat You Better.”
