Blake Shelton’s “A Guy With A Girl” Receiving Early Airplay In Indianapolis, Albuquerque

The Voice Coaches [NBC]

Update: Based on early airplay attained during the September 18-24 tracking week, Blake Shelton’s “A Guy With A Girl” ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s #86 song.

The “She’s Got A Way With Words” follow-up received 59 weekly spins, but the #86 position is based on chart points (spins receive point values based on the size of the market in which they were received) rather than raw airplay.

Blake Shelton’s “A Guy With A Girl” will not officially premiere at country radio until Monday, but several stations are already playing the new single.

Indianapolis’ 95.5 WFMS and Albuquerque’s NASH FM led the way during the September 18-24 tracking week. The former played the song 15 times, while the latter offered 11 spins.

Other notable early supporters include Gainesville’s 93.7 K Country (5 weekly spins), Salt Lake City’s Z104 (5 weekly spins), and Wichita’s 101.3 KFDI (4 spins).

Numerous other stations played the song either twice or thrice during the September 18-24 tracking period.

“A Guy With A Girl” is the third single from Blake Shelton’s “If I’m Honest.” It is the follow-up to Shelton’s “She’s Got A Way With Words,” which, in peaking at #7 on the Mediabase and Billboard radio charts, became the superstar’s first single since 2009’s “I’ll Just Hold On” to miss #1.
