Thanks to a pickup from CMT, “Nashville” will be returning for a fifth season.

“Nashies” will have to wait until January 2017 for that season to begin.

CMT confirms that the series, which previously aired on ABC, will commence its fifth season on Thursday, January 5, 2017. The two-hour premiere will begin at 9PM ET/PT.

“Long-time SVOD partner Hulu will continue to bring fans new episodes of “Nashville” by making them available to stream the day after they air on CMT at http://www.hulu.com/nashville,” notes the official press release.

CMT also provided updates on its other scripted programs:

— New series “Million Dollar Quartet” will premiere in March.

— The thirteen-episode second season of “Still The King” will premiere in the spring.

— CMT has ordered a pilot for “His Wives & Daughters.”

“The soapy, comedic series centers on the eclectic and cunning wives and daughters of larger-than-life country music legend (and infamous womanizer) Eddie Ray Banks,” says the network. “After his estranged family is brought together unexpectedly, tempers flare and old rivalries resurface setting the stage for startling secrets to emerge as an unforgettable mystery begins to unfold.”
