Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Californication” Reaches 6X Platinum, “Stadium Arcadium” 3X

June brought the release of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ new album “The Getaway.”

It also brought new certifications for two of the band’s earlier albums.

On June 28, 2016, RHCP’s “Californication” was officially upgraded to 6x platinum in the United States. Double album “Stadium Arcadium” ascended to triple platinum.

The certifications respectively confirm US unit totals of 6 million and 3 million. Under the RIAA’s albums program, a unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.
