“Hands” Benefit Song Received Pop Airplay In Orlando, Reno, Buffalo

Hands [Cover | Interscope Records]

Star-studded benefit single “Hands” received first day airplay on pop stations in Orlando, Reno and Buffalo.

Mediabase data confirms 14 opening day spins on 101.9 AMP in Orlando, airplay that was expected given the song’s function as a response to the tragic Orlando shooting.

Reno’s Alice @ 96.5 played the song thrice, while Buffalo’s KISS 98.5 offered two spins.

The song is not presently receiving a formal push at pop radio; the aforementioned three stations were most likely just offering support and exposure for the project.

Mary J Blige, Jason Derulo, Tyler Glenn, Selena Gomez, Halsey, Ty Herndon, Imagine Dragons, Juanes, Adam Lambert, Mary Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, Kacey Musgraves, MNEK, Alex Newell, P!nk, Prince Royce, Nate Ruess, RuPaul, Troye Sivan, Jussie Smollett, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor are featured on the song, which was jointly released by GLAAD and Interscope.

It was issued as an iTunes exclusive; proceeds will go to Equality Florida, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD.
