Ratings: HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” Adds Viewers, Nearly Holds In Demo Despite NBA Finals

Game Of Thrones [HBO]

“Game Of Thrones” fans know to expect big things from each season’s penultimate episode, and that knowledge enabled the show to hold strong against mammoth competition.

Despite facing the monstrously rated seventh game of the NBA Finals, Sunday’s “Game Of Thrones” actually enjoyed a slight week-to-week lift in total viewership. It endured only a slight loss in adults 18-49.

According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Thrones” drew a 3.85 adults 18-49 rating and 7.66 million total live+same-day viewers. Last week’s episode drew a slightly stronger 3.88 in the demo but a slightly lesser viewership tally of 7.60 million.

Sunday’s HBO lineup also included “Silicon Valley” (0.88, 1.63 million this week vs. 0.88, 1.64 million last week), “Veep” (0.43, 0.90 million this week vs. 0.39, 0.85 million last week) and “Last Week Tonight” (0.62, 1.44 million vs. 0.53, 1.21 million last week).
