Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” Confirmed As New US Single; Impacts Hot AC 6/20, Pop 6/21

Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life,” which has become a hit in numerous international markets, will get another opportunity at success in the United States.

Epic Records confirms plans to soon push “Lush Life” at the hot adult contemporary and pop radio formats. It will impact the former on June 20 and the latter on June 21.

“Lush Life” was first promoted in the United States last fall, but it stalled outside the Top 50 at pop radio. Larsson would later score a major US breakthrough in her MNEK collaboration “Never Forget You,” which reached the Top 5 at pop radio and Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has only just recently begun to fade.

“Lush Life,” meanwhile, has been developing momentum in the background. The combination of the song’s international success and Larsson’s growing US profile helped the song become a popular option on streaming networks, and it is currently #5 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.

Given that momentum, and the fact that Larsson has officially broken through at US radio, Epic is hoping “Lush Life” can become a bona fide hit this summer.
