Shawn Mendes’ new single just did something not achieved since Adam Wakefield’s original “The Voice” single “Lonesome Broken and Blue” emerged early last week.
It seized the US iTunes single sales chart crown from Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”
As of 9AM ET, “Treat You Better” is the fastest-selling song on the US iTunes storefront.
Mendes’ new single, which arrived on digital just prior to midnight, was also issued to radio today. Its official pop adds date is Tuesday, but it should already be receiving airplay.
“CSTF” is currently #2 on iTunes, ahead of Drake’s #3 “One Dance (featuring WizKid & Kyla),” P!nk’s #4 “Just Like Fire” and The Chainsmokers’ #5 “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya).”
