BET Mocks Madonna’s BBMAs Prince Tribute In BET Awards Promo

At 11:18PM ET — less than half an hour after Madonna and Stevie Wonder performed a tribute to Prince at the Billboard Music Awards — the official BET Awards Twitter account issued a very intriguing promotional video.

In addition to confirming that the June 26 BET Awards will also feature a Prince tribute, the 15-second clip seemingly mocks the Madonna and Stevie Wonder performance.

“Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We Got You,” cracks the BET video.

While Billboard curiously claims the Madonna-Stevie Wonder performance was the night’s best, other outlets and fans were rather critical. Madonna’s vocal performance on “Nothing Compares 2 U” came under particular fire.
