Republic’s press release about the video for new DNCE single “Toothbrush” makes an announcement regarding the band’s debut single.
It has attained double platinum status in the United States.
The double platinum certification confirms a US unit total of at least 2 million. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
The RIAA has not yet added the certification to its website, but it presumably will in the coming weeks.
Republic additionally adds that “Cake By The Ocean” has generated over 3.5 million in global consumption (sales and streaming units).
