John Cena [Bravo]

WWE Superstar and “American Grit” host John Cena has been tapped as the host of the 2016 ESPYs.

The announcement came in a Thursday press release. In addition to his work as an entertainer, the press release touts Cena’s record-setting involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“It is truly an honor to be named host of ‘The 2016 ESPYS,’” said Cena. “Not only will the biggest names in sports and entertainment come together to recognize some of the most spectacular athletic performances of the year, but we’ll also raise funds for The V Foundation to further much needed cancer research.”

The three-hour broadcast, which honors the year’s best achievements in sports, is scheduled for 8PM ET on Wednesday, July 13. ABC will broadcast the ceremony.
