Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” Earns #63 Ranking at Hot AC Radio

Columbia has yet to confirm a third US radio single from Adele’s blockbuster “25.”

It is nonetheless worth noting that one potential candidate continues to receive a moderate amount of airplay at the hot adult contemporary format.

“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” received 77 Hot AC spins during the April 3-9 tracking week. The spin count positions the “25” track as the Mediabase Hot AC panel’s #63 song this week.

A total of 5 stations contributed to the spin count; four represent new supporters. The new stations contributed 42 spins this week, with holdover supporter Music Choice contributing 35 (down from 42 last week).

The new support comes on the heels of another cause for speculation that Adele is eyeing “Send My Love” as her next single: at a recent show in Glasgow, the songstress rhetorically asked fans for input on a music video for the track.

By the same token, the radio-friendly “Send My Love” has received occasional boosts in Hot AC airplay since the release of “25.” It actually cracked the Hot AC panel’s Top 60 earlier this year. One should therefore not take the new airplay — and #63 position — as confirmation that “Send My Love” is the new Adele single.

One should, however, take the latest wave of airplay as an indication that some Hot AC radio stations, including major market ones like Star 101.3 in San Francisco, are interested.
