Nick Jonas & Tove Lo’s “Close” Received 1,265 Day One Pop Spins; Strong Chart Debut Coming

Aided by buzz and “on the hour” promotional airplay from iHeartMedia’s network of stations, Nick Jonas’ “Close (featuring Tove Lo)” received a considerable number of first day pop radio spins.

The song, which appears on Jonas’ forthcoming album “Last Year Was Complicated,” garnered 1,265 pop spins on Friday, March 25. The tally slots “Close” at #32 on Mediabase’s building chart, which is based on airplay from the first six days of the March 20-26 tracking week.

“Close” will not receive nearly as much airplay Saturday. It should nonetheless be able to at least retain its #32 position as the week concludes.

And insofar as The Chainsmokers’ building #11 “Roses (featuring ROZES)” is due to be removed as a recurrent this week, “Close” will actually rise by one place on the final, published edition of the chart.
