Following its first two days of availability, ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK” ranked as the Mediabase pop panel’s #44 song.

Following its first full tracking week of availability, it will earn a Top 30 position on Mediabase’s pop airplay chart.

“PILLOWTALK” received 2,185 spins during the first six days of the January 31-February 6 tracking week. The count positions the former One Direction member’s tune at #30 on Mediabase’s building chart.

There is no reason to believe “PILLOWTALK” will be leapfrogged before Sunday arrives It may, itself, even leapfrog One Direction’s “Perfect,” which is #29 on the building chart and rapidly decelerating. Surpassing Demi Lovato’s “Confident” — #28 on building and also decelerating — is not impossible.

The song’s position on the final chart, moreover, will be better than that reflected on the building listing. Ellie Goulding’s building #20 “On My Mind” and Drake’s building #22 “Hotline Bling” are both scheduled to be removed as recurrents this week. Those removals will thrust all songs below #22 — including “PILLOWTALK” — up by two places.

Sources say “PILLOWTALK” is the new iHeartRadio “On The Verge” selection at pop radio. The program provides songs with guaranteed airplay on the iHeartMedia network of stations. With that support and ample organic buzz on its side, “PILLOWTALK” is definitely in good shape.
