Ratings: MTV’s “Shannara Chronicles” Climbs This Week; “Teen Wolf” Also Rises

“The Shannara Chronicles,” which had suffered two straight weeks of ratings declines, roared back this Tuesday.

Per Nielsen Live+Same-Day Cable Data, Tuesday’s episode posted a 0.49 adults 18-49 rating and reached 1.029 million total viewers. The numbers comfortably top the 0.31 rating and 751,000 viewership sum posted by last week’s broadcast.

Of assistance to this week’s performance: the fact that the episode, unlike the past two, had not been made available online in advance of the broadcast.

In terms of broadcasts on the series’ MTV home, the adults 18-49 rating actually represents a series high (the premiere posted a 0.48 on MTV but added 0.06 from a concurrent TV Land airing).

— While not to the same extent, lead-in “Teen Wolf” also rose this week. Tuesday’s episode drew a 0.44 rating and 916,000 total viewers, besting the 0.39 and 906,000 marks from last week’s broadcast.
