Ratings: “Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life” Returns To Premiere Level

Thanks to direct lead-in support from a late afternoon NFL playoff game, last week’s installments of FOX’s Sunday comedies — including newcomers “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” and “Bordertown” — enjoyed improved ratings.

Absent direct football support, this week’s episodes naturally suffered losses in adults 18-49 and total viewership. They did, however, roughly match their January 3 premieres (“Cooper Barrett” was down slightly in viewership, while “Bordertown” was up slightly in adults 18-49 and viewership).

Per fast national data, the aforementioned “Cooper Barrett” posted a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and a 2.546 million viewership sum in the 8:30PM half-hour. Down from the 2.1 rating and 4.565 million mark posted by last week’s inflated installment, the numbers are comparable to those of the January 3 premiere (1.2, 2.621 million).

While not aided by a playoff game, the January 3 comedy block did air after a regular season NFL contest.

8PM lead-in “The Simpsons” (1.8, 4.000 million) was actually down from the 2.0 adults 18-49 rating and 4.405 million posted by the January 3 edition (and obviously from the 3.6/8.332m drawn on January 10).

This Sunday’s “Cooper Barrett” led into “Family Guy,” which drew a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating and 3.399 million total viewers. The January 3 broadcast drew a 1.7 with 3.264 million, while the January 10 posted a 1.8 with 3.917 million.

9:30PM freshman “Bordertown” posted a 1.2 with 2.569 million this week. It was up from the 1.1 and 2.340 million drawn by its January 3 premiere but down from the 1.5 and 3.579 million posted last week.
