Powered by what Nielsen Music reports as 790,000 weekly US sales, Adele’s “25” earns a fourth straight week at #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

The 790,000 weekly total, which was generated during the December 11-17 tracking period, brought the album’s cumulative US total to 5.98 million.

Generated in only four weeks, the cume establishes “25” as the best-selling album since Adele’s own “21.” To date, “21” has sold 11.37 million copies in the United States.

Taylor Swift’s “1989,” which previously ranked as the best-seller since “21,” has sold 5.57 million copies since its October 2014 release.

With Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500) added to the pure sales total, “25” generated 825,000 in weekly consumption units. The mark easily earns Adele’s album a fourth straight week at #1 on the Billboard 200.

The Top 10 of this week’s Billboard 200 follows:

1) Adele – 25 – 825K units (790K from sales)
