Ratings Update: “Scream Queens” Falls to A18-49 Low; “Grandfathered” Slides in Viewership

Final Ratings: Tuesday’s “Scream Queens” enjoyed a slight gain in total live+same-day viewership.

Unfortunately, it slipped to a new series low in adults 18-49.

Airing in its usual 9PM slot, FOX’s horror comedy posted a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 2.512 million total viewers. Last week’s episode reached a lesser audience of 2.442 million but drew a stronger 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

At the time, the 1.0 rating tied the series’ low mark.

— FOX occupied the 8PM hour with “Grandfathered” (1.0, 3.046 this week vs. 1.0, 3.175 million last week) and “The Grinder” (0.8, 2.562 million this week vs. 0.8, 2.518 million last week).

Both adults 18-49 marks tie series lows. The total “Grandfathered” viewership tally constitutes a new series low.

Fast National Ratings: While it enjoyed a slight weekly uptick in total viewership, Tuesday’s “Scream Queens” slipped to a new series low in adults 18-49.

Per Nielsen Fast National data, Tuesday’s episode drew a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 2.498 million total viewers.

The 0.9 rating represents a new low mark for the show, which last week posted a 1.0 and reached 2.442 million live+same-day viewers.

FOX led into “Scream Queens” with “Grandfathered” (1.0 A18-49/3.075M viewers vs. 1.0/3.175M last week) and “The Grinder” (0.8 A18-49/2.611M viewers vs. 0.8/2.518M last week).
====================

Successful in generating buzz and social media conversation, FOX’s “Scream Queens” remains a weak live+same-day ratings performer.

Tuesday’s episode, in fact, set a new series low in the overnight household ratings. It drew a mere 1.7, per Nielsen Metered Market data.

Last week’s episode posted a 1.9.

While there is no guarantee the show also slipped to lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership (data due by 11:15AM ET), there is every reason to believe the show did not enjoy a notable uptick

To its credit, the show has been reasonably steady over the past several episodes. Live+same-day interest is very limited, but those who have proven interested are generally sticking around.

— FOX again occupied the 8PM hour with “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder.” Per metered market data, the two shows posted series low overnight household ratings of 2.2 and 1.8, respectively.

Last week’s editions respectively drew a 2.5 and 2.2.

Beginning this January, “Grandfathered” will shift to 8:30PM (behind “New Girl”), while “The Grinder” will move to 9:30PM (behind “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”).
