In addition to starting at #1 on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100, Adele’s “Hello” also earns the single-week US digital sales record.

According to Nielsen Music, “Hello” generated 1.112 million paid US downloads (not including instant gratification downloads) during its first week of release (October 23-29).

That easily ranks as the greatest single-week digital sales total ever. Flo Rida’s “Right Round,” which previously held the record, sold 636,000 in its best week.

— While not a record, Adele’s “Hello” also generated a monstrous 61.6 million US streams during its first week of release. Only “Harlem Shake,” which benefited immensely from user-generated content, exceeded that total in a single week.
