Ariana Grande’s “Focus” Arrives at #31 on Pop Radio Airplay Chart

Despite not emerging until the sixth day of the seven-day October 25-31 tracking week, Ariana Grande’s “Focus” debuts comfortably within the Top 40 on Mediabase’s weekly pop airplay chart.

Thanks to the 2,029 spins it received within the official tracking week, “Focus” starts at #31 on the listing. It is the highest-charting addition to the top 40.

Impressive, the aforementioned two-day spin count was aided greatly by an opening day airplay promotion. Numerous pop stations provided “Focus” with hourly airplay on Friday, October 30.

To its credit, “Focus” received more airplay — and starts higher — than other recent releases subject to the same opening day promotion.

Adele’s “Hello,” for instance, last week debuted at #33 in conjunction with the 1,621 spins it received in its first two days.

Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” which actually received an extra half-day of airplay, last week started at #34 with 1,563 spins.
