Ratings: MTV’s “Awkward,” “Faking It” Fall, Remain Above Series Lows

This week’s “Awkward” and “Faking It” both suffered losses in adults 18-49 and total viewership this week.

But given the extent to which they have been plagued by ratings woes this fall, solace comes from the fact that the two MTV comedies remained above series low levels.

Per Nielsen cable data, Monday’s “Awkward” posted a 0.32 adults 18-49 rating with 631,000 total viewers. Down from the 0.37 adults 18-49 rating and 707,000 viewership mark posted by last week’s episode, the numbers comfortably top the 0.28 adults 18-49 rating and 498,000 audience total garnered on October 12.

That October 12 episode tied a series low in adults 18-49 and set a new one in viewership.

Leading out of “Awkward,” this week’s “Faking It” drew a 0.20 adults 18-49 rating with 441,000 total viewers. Both numbers trail those of last week’s episode, which managed a 0.23 with 508,000.

They nonetheless best the show’s previous low marks (posted by different episodes) of 0.18 in adults 18-49 and 374,000 total viewers.

— The aforementioned “Awkward” and “Faking It” lows came during the shows’ current half-seasons (season 5A for “Awkward,” season 2B for “Faking It”).
