Ratings: Showtime’s “The Affair” Improves, “Homeland” Falls Again

A week-over-week loss for lead-in “Homeland” did not prevent Showtime’s “The Affair” from posting gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Besting the 0.15 adults 18-49 rating and 547,000 viewership mark posted by last week’s episode, Sunday’s episode drew a 0.18 adults 18-49 rating with 648,000 total viewers.

Unlike the previous two episodes, Sunday’s “The Affair” was not available for streaming in advance of the premiere broadcast. Unlike last week’s episode, it did not face overlapping competition from “The Walking Dead.”

Those realities may have contributed to the uptick.

— The uptick came despite a downturn for lead-in “Homeland.” Sunday’s episode drew a 0.37 adults 18-49 rating with 1.106 million viewers; last week’s broadcast posted a 0.46 with 1.396 million viewers.
