Ratings: “American Horror Story: Hotel” Slips From “Freak Show,” Still Tops Cable

While not quite as hot as the first “American Horror Story: Freak Show” episode, Wednesday’s “American Horror Story: Hotel” premiere still ranked as cable’s #1 original Wednesday program among adults 18-49 (among all Wednesday night programs, it was second only to FOX’s “Empire”).

It trailed TBS’ baseball game as the night’s second-most-watched original cable broadcast.

Wednesday’s “Hotel” launch drew a 2.99 adults 18-49 rating with 5.807 million viewers. Both numbers narrowly trail those of the “Freak Show” premiere, which drew a 3.11 adults 18-49 rating with 6.127 million viewers.

The “AHS: Hotel” premiere did, however, markedly outperform the “AHS: Freak Show” finale. That episode drew a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 3.27 million viewers on January 21, 2015.

The aforementioned MLB game drew 8.302 million total viewers but managed a lesser 2.59 in adults 18-49.
