Demi Lovato’s “Confident” Ranks as Pop’s Most-Added Song; Selena Gomez Follows

Demi Lovato [Hollywood]

Demi Lovato’s new single “Confident” impacts as the week’s most-added song at pop radio.

It earns that distinction courtesy a very slim margin. “Confident” earned weekly pickups from 47 Mediabase-monitored stations this week; Selena Gomez’ “Same Old Love,” which technically impacted this week as well, scored adds from 46 monitored stations.

While this week may have represented each song’s official impact, neither Selena Gomez’ “Same Old Love” nor Demi Lovato’s “Confident” is completely new to the pop format. Already an established, Top 25 hit, “Same Old Love” had received 115 Mediabase-monitored adds prior to this week’s official impact. Lovato’s “Confident,” which is one of pop’s Top 50 songs, had earned 34 pre-impact adds.

Rudimental’s “Lay It All On Me (featuring Ed Sheeran),” which last week shared the most-added distinction at pop radio, is this week’s third-most-added track. It received pickups from another 42 stations.

An adds count of 28 earns Drake’s surging “Hotline Bling” the fourth-most-added honor, while Conrad Sewell’s “Hold Me Up” and Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind” tie for fifth-most-added. The iHeartRadio “On the Verge” track and lead “Delirium” single each received 27 adds.

Other notable pop options: DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean” (22 adds, 7th-most-added), Sia’s “Alive” (19, 8th), Alessia Cara’s “Here” (18, 9th), Audien’s “Something Better (featuring Lady Antebellum)” (14, 10th).
