Ratings: FX’s “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” Season Finale Draws 487K Viewers

Airing one week after the series’ weakest performance on record, Thursday’s season one “Sex&Drugs&Rock& Roll” finale enjoyed gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

The episode posted a 0.19 adults 18-49 rating with 487,000 total viewers.

While the marks post the 0.17 rating and 383,000 viewership total posted by the previous episode, they are not strong numbers. The adults 18-49 ties that of the August 20 episode as the series’ second-worst on record. The viewership tally is below the show’s median level.

This week’s episode faced competition from the Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs game. While not as massive as last week’s Patriots-Steelers game, the game still represented a daunting broadcast opponent.

FX has not yet revealed the fate of the first-year comedy.

— “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” led into “Married.” The episode drew a 0.16 with 323,000 total viewers. Last week’s broadcast scored a 0.13 with 251,000.
