Shawn Mendes’ breakthrough radio hit “Stitches” is officially a platinum single in the United States.
The RIAA formally issued the certification on August 31, 2015.
Under the terms of the RIAA’s Digital Singles program, a platinum certification confirms a US unit total of at least 1 million. One unit is equal to one paid download or 100 streams.
“Stitches” is the third single from Mendes’ debut album “Handwritten.”
