Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” Blasts Into Pop Radio’s Top 20

Powered by the format’s greatest weekly airplay gain, Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” rockets into the Top 20 of this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

The song, which debuted at #27 last week, cruises to #18 on this week’s listing. It received ~5,545 spins during the August 30-September 5 tracking week.

This week’s spin count bests last week’s mark by a format-leading ~3,341 plays. Aiding that number, of course, is the fact that “What Do You Mean?” was only available for the last two days of the previous tracking week (it did, however, receive hourly iHeartMedia airplay on its first day).

“What Do You Mean?” is one of three additions to the weekly Top 20. The Weeknd’s “The Hills” rockets nine places to #13, while Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” jumps twelve to #19.

It is concurrently positioned in the Top 40 at rhythmic radio.
