Ratings: FX’s “The Strain” Rises From Last Week’s Series Low

Not subject to competition from AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead,” this week’s edition of “The Strain” enjoyed significant gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

This week’s edition of the FX drama posted a 0.61 adults 18-49 rating with 1.360 million total viewers. Both numbers markedly top those of last week’s broadcast, which drew a series low 0.40 adults 18-49 rating and a series low viewership total of just 949,000.

The first half-hour of last week’s broadcast faced the last half hour of AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead” premiere. Only the first minute of this week’s “The Strain” was subject to “Dead” competition (which ran until 10:01).

This Sunday’s “Strain” did face competition from the 2015 Video Music Awards, but the ceremony clearly possessed less audience overlap than last week’s “Fear The Walking Dead” premiere.
