Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” Rockets Into Top 5 on iTunes Sales Chart

MTV closed its Video Music Awards pre-show with the heavily hyped premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” video.

Thanks to that exposure — and the ample attention Swift received on the main VMAs broadcast — the song has been soaring on the US all-genre iTunes sales chart.

As of press time, it was up to #4 on the chart. Only Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” and The Weeknd’s “The Hills” are positioned higher on iTunes. The former two also received VMAs exposure; the Bieber song is new to the market.

“Wildest Dreams” is the fifth single from Taylor Swift’s “1989.” While it does not officially impact the pop and hot adult contemporary radio formats until this week, it already charting — and climbing — on both associated airplay charts.

Prior to being officially confirmed as a radio single, “Dreams” had already received a gold certification from the RIAA.
